About Us

Who We Are

The Emergency Software Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing emergency response technologies. Our team of experts includes software engineers, disaster response specialists, and researchers who are passionate about making a difference.

Our History

  • 2019 - Development begins on an open source CAD tool for Goose Creek H&S
  • 2020 - The RescueReady Project enters development
  • 2020 - The Open Emergency Operations Suite Working Group at the Loudoun Academies of Engineering & Technology (OEOS @ AET) forms
  • 2020 - The AET Mesh Networks Working Group forms
  • 2020 - A joint team of students in LCPS and James Madison University, working with OEOS @ AET, forms to develop geospatial technologies following a chemical plant explosion in Belle, WV
  • 2022 - A joint team of students from LCPS, LC-CFR, and the University of Virginia begin work on technologies to improve telle-health.
  • 2022 - In may, the working group publishes “Streamlining Emergency Communications” (2022, McDonald et. al.)
  • 2022 - Following publishing, the working group garners interest from the DHS Science & Technology Directorate, the Council of Governments, and key players in the industry.
